Chris travelled to John Atkins' lab at University College Cork to act as external PhD examiner for Kate O' Connor. Kate gave a great viva defense and we had some very interesting discussions about mechanisms of programmed ribosome frameshifting and translational bypassing. Well done Kate - very excited to have a new doctor in the recoding field!
